Hmmm, never tried that, what skill would you be looking to
disrupt first and from whom ?? Also wondering how to take
on shadow beast, I hear of ppl saying the "best offense is no
offense" have not figured this out yet.
I first go clear the beach and cave, minus the Ancient Skales, then I run to Wailing forest, switch armor from glads to
platemail, then do the forest. I just started trying forest, only 3 tries so far, first two died horribly fast, then switched to Ele.
res. and last night got thru the first group of spirit shepherds,
then the worms(easy), then the spiriit woods, then the armored cave spiders then two more patrols of spirit shepherds, then the next patrol of spirit shepherds took me out. Nothing good dropped here, but did get 3 shards and gold
ebon shadow blade +19% health below 50% req. 10 in the
cave, can you dye these things ??
Here are the skills I use : sprint, pene. blow, cleave, cyclone axe, watch yourself, ph. res., ele. res., heal signet. When running use a Let. helm, after running and ready to fight I switch helms and Gauntlets, I have a sup. axe on Glads gauntlets, when in stance, my health is at 575 when running and is at 425 when fighting.
SirShadowrunner.....
(disrupting chop on shadow monk hmmmmmm)

I use Cyclone Axe, Cleave, Disrupting Chop, Watch Yourself, Physical Resistance, Elemental Resistance, Healing Signet, Sprint
Just run the normal way, kill driftwoods and dryder, next, you can either lure the patrol of 2 warriors 1 monk to the skales and let them kill those (75% chance shadow wins)
To take out the patrol itself, attack the monk first, use phys resistance, and go cyclone/cleave for damage, it takes some practice to disrupt orison of healing but once you get it you should kill him with cleave before it has recharged.. Then just take the warriors disrupting their healing signet
For mesmer/eles, mesmer first, heal constantly and don't forget elemental resistance
You cannot kill shadow beasts if they have a monk as backup (spiteful hurts too much). Else they're fine

Since you have dolyak signet..why not used desperation blow?
IMO its the best attack skill with high tactics and no KD

It's been a long while since I've done these, but is it me, or have the spiders started to use their Healing Springs less and less? I would know since I had a tendency to use my Healing Signet just as they used Healing Spring. They spammed it like crazy. I also used the recharge time of my Physical Resistance to know when they were to use Healing Spring again, so it was often.
However last night I noticed they barely used it once I started attacking them. The only time they used it was when I was running to them to attack them. After that, nil. So my spider run last night went very smoothly.
Anyone else notice this? Or has it been like this for a long time already?

They won't use the Healing Spring if you're standing by them anymore, makes it a LOT easier.
Shadow Beasts will kill themselves with Dark Pact. Just wait a while till they're almost dead then unload a few attack skills into each to deliver the final blow.
Oh, and Shadow Blades can't be dyed.

OK Almost completed my first run, W/Me with Physical Resistance seems much easier. My problem though seems to be the run down. I always seem to be unlucky and find everything in my run path. Theres a video in this thread of someone doing the run which makes it look easy, and it would be since nothing is in their path. But everytime ive done it im waiting ages for skakes to move etc.
Any tips?

Run through them. If you can't go around, you'll just have to sprint past and stop in a safe location, then continue.
And thanks Racthoh for clearing that up. It's so much easier now than playing that guessing game of when they're going to use it. ^^;

Regarding the best offense is no offense - this probably refers to the fact that shadow beasts do the bulk of their damage with mark of pain and spiteful spirit. Since mark of pain only affects nearby allies, it is completely ineffective against solo players. The only thing you need to worry about is killing yourself by attacking with spiteful spirit on you.
Shadow beasts on their own are incredibly easy to solo since their physical attacks are very weak. I take 0 dmg from their hits with full glads + knights boots and superior absorption rune. It becomes simply a case of bringing 1 interrupt with you to take out spiteful then just keep wailing on them until they attempt to recast it. You can even do it the stupid way and attack through spiteful without even bringing an interrupt although you would have to stop and heal sig periodically.
Shadow beasts only really become a problem in mixed mobs with monks and warriors. In situations like that it becomes more difficult to deal with the greater variety of threats with only 8 skill slots.

Yes although adding another pip of health degen onto the 4 or 5 pips you will get from poison is probably going to make the run slightly more difficult unless you weapon switch between fights and attack alot at +33% attack speed. I actually like physical resistance + dolyak sig + watch yourself since you can juggle them and can easily have at least 2 of them up permanently - makes the run a peice of cake once you get into the rythym. That rules out using an attack speed skill since my stance is already in permanent use.

Well usually u get atleast 2 spiders that stack on or close to each other. This provides for 4 hits. 4x3=12 HP gain on a Hundred Blades. This is only if you do it by 3 spiders at once. So. The more the better since you should only be taking 0-2 dmg from ea arrow usually.

things I've noticed.
The Number of Scales has been jacked up. In addition sometimes scales are sitting just outside the cave. If this happens I foundthe onlything to do is sprint into the cave and hope you can overpower the spiders while not dying from life transfer. I use sheilds up and I've made this 1 time outta 3.
Shadowblades drop I got a rare 14% in stance require 9 which is now my weapon of choice, a few others have dropped but they've all gone.
Shadow patrols seem to be extended, the one with the 2 eles and the mesmer seems to go down to the ridge now. This can force your hand, unless you're lucky and get the scales to deal with them.
Drops are at best fair this rate its still gonna take many months before I can afford FoW armour. Oh well.

Shadow beasts are easy all you have to do with not attack and only spam Hundred Blades(if your have or cyclone Axe) to kill them faster.

Recently I asked if it is possible to clear out everything in the Fissure of Woe. Evidently, as people are saying, its not. These Ancient Skales seem to be making one of the largest problems. But then, excluding Ancient Skales, is it possible to kill the rest? Infernal Wurms, etc. (?)

I have made it to the spiders and have had some good drops, but I am still having trouble. I have the Glads armor with an Ascalon Helm, the collectors shield, etc. The spiders are doing no more then -3 when they hit and I have even killed a few. The trouble is the poison. It is at 4 pips and I am healing every time the sig is ready but I can not stay up with it. I have my tactics at 13. Not sure what else to do. Any suggestions?

Which build are you using? Healing sig at 13 tactics (137) easily outdoes poison.

BALANCE: I've managed to clear out lava pits alone Wailing forest spider cave, beach and a few mahgo hydras in burning forest. I don't think you can solo Skele's with warrior (in the plains) I don't think it is possible, skeletals are too much for one person unless you I-necro

With the recent fix to Flurry, with my build I've actually found killing the skales to be somewhat easier than before. Not saying that you should do it, but you can.

Flurry fixed? I'll be a good noob and look it up..
Flurry: fixed a bug that reduced your damage more than 25%.
Dang. How often was that triggering before?
